Author: DeeDavidson97 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.chautauqua/7106.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi You replied to some 2003 posts on the CLYDE family, here is a bit I don't see posted there in 1870 and 1880 your PRUDENCE 78 born about 1802-3 is a widow in Poland, living beside GEORGE Clyde born about 1835 and his family , Prudence is still head of her own house in 80 with a grandson John ROBINSON age 15 and a farm laborer , beside George In 1870 she also has young ch with her; Georges wife is Mary Ann Clyde,eldest sons name a bit hard to figure out,is HERKIMER CLYDE GRANT is 18 and Charlotte 10 in 1900 only Grant is left in Poland Chautauqua Co a servant with a wife BUT in 1850 PRUDENCE and HUGH lived in Randolph, CATTARAUGUS CO NY which is right beside Chautauqua Co they had a big family; in 1850 HUGH is 69, Prudence is 47; Ch are GEORGE W 18 HANNAH 15, ELIZA A 12, CHARLOTTE 10, CHARLES 8 THOMAS 5, I cannot find burial data for any of these; The name Herkimer is only used in the 1 census probably a mid or nick name GRANT lived in 1920 in town of GERRY NY and is gone in 1930 he had a son George also and as for the Sylvester W0RDEN etc I find no burial data for him in Ch Co either; Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
