I have my great grandfather's draft card in 1918 from syracuse. then in 1930 everyone shows up in the orphanages or jail...or buffalo...the extended family is still in rochester. and one uncle and his family in jamestown. but between 1920 and 1930 a whole mess of stuff went down. my ggrandfather started taking up with his mistress (who he moved to buffalo with and started a new family)...but between 1921 and 1925...dates are not exact...they were in cassadaga...my aunt only remembers fredonia...so that was after my ggrand father tried to get a divorce...my ggrand mother being a good catholic woman would not have it. so he tried to have her committed to a mental institution. she was found to be sane so they released her. that was in 1925. and that's when they moved to fredonia I guess. I just wish I could find at what years they were here...and where. William was my father. he was born in dunkirk...at brooks to my great grand parents eldest son Wilfred (who was in jail in 1930 for abandoning my father and that's why he was in the orphange too) and my grandmother who was pregnant and living with her mother in dunkirk. Hazel was her name. during the 1920s i'm just trying to pinpoint everyone's location. so that I can better figure out everything that went down. and if my aunt was not born in fredonia...she was either born in sinclairville or cassadaga... I guess the more i think about things ...the easier it gets for me and sometimes i need to think outloud. I just wish i could get year by year addresses for these people in the 1920s.
