H. C. Nutting ( Lucian H. C. Nutting) The remains of Lucian H. C. Nutting arrived Saturday from Detroit. The funeral was held Sunday from 3 West Fourth Street. Rev. M. V. Stone officiated. James M. Brown post, G.A.R. attended in a body and the following officers conducted the ritual service: A. H. Stafford, acting commander; Rev. M. V. Stone, chaplain; S. L. Willard, first comrade; F. A. Casart, second comrade; J. M. Shaw, third comrade. The bearers, all members of the Sons of Veterans were: N. M. Willson, I. A. Button, James F. Miller, Floyd Whitney, Arthur Hubbard and A. V. Stone. Those in attendance from away were: Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Mills, Mrs. R. L. Reeves, Miss Louise Reeves, R. K. Winnettee all of Detroit and Mrs. R. E. Parnham of Minneapolis. The Interment was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer. ** in 1890 Veterans census Perrysburg Cattaraugus Co this man; Served 1861-1864 Iowa 9th Infantry Name was spelled in military data as LUCIEN Lucien Nutting , Residence: Linn County, Iowa Enlistment Date: 24 Sep 1861 Side Served: Union State Served: Iowa Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 24 September 1861 at the age of 19. Enlisted in Company K, 9th Infantry Regiment Iowa on 24 Sep 1861. Discharged from Company K, 9th Infantry Regiment Iowa on 23 Sep 1864 at East Point, GA.
