He is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lynn Vanderwark, and Mrs. Emil [ also Emel ] Lund of Centralia; and Mrs. Merritt Sherman of Jamestown; two brothers, Joseph Taber of Millbrook, N.Y., and Byron Taber of Poughkeepsie; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Shero of Millbrook, N.Y. and Mrs. Carrie Thomas of Katona, N.Y.; also nine grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Taber was a member of Sylvan lodge, F. & A.M., Sinclairville, having been a Mason for 58 years. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the home of his grandson near Dewittville. Taber was held Wednesday afternoon from the home of his grandson, Gerald Sherman, near Dewittville. Rev. J. C. Hankinson of Sinclairville conducted the services at the home. Masonic services were conducted at the grave by J. H. Cummings. The bearers were Howard Roberts, Marshall Hale, Ernest Olson, Ray Putnam, Fred Harper and Herbert Smith. Present from away were Mrs. Blair Link, Buffalo; Mr. and Mrs. Byron Taber and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Taber of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The interment was in the Centralia cemetery. (Jamestown Evening Journal, Thursday Nov. 8, 1928, p. 6.) _ _ _ _ _ _ Funeral of J.E. Taber CENTRALIA, Nov. 9 - The funeral of James E. Taber who died on November 5 was held from the home of his grandson, Gerald Sherman on Wednesday afternoon, burial in Union cemetery at Centralia. Mr. Taber was born at Poughkeepsie on June 11, 1846 and had lived in the vicinity of Centralia for about sixty years, he married Mary Haynes on June 14, 1871, her death occurring four years ago, his wedding suit was preserved and he wore it to his last resting place. Three daughters survive, Mrs. Anna Sherman of Jamestown; Mrs. Clara VanDewark and Mrs. Iva Lund of Centralia. Rev. J.C. Hankinson of Sinclairville officiated and Sylvan lodge, F. & A.M. of Sinclairville conducted the burial service at the grave. Members of the order acting as bearers, Mr. Taber having been a member of the Masonic fraternity for 58 years. Among those present from away were a brother, Byron Taber and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Taber of Millbrook, N.Y. ; Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Thorpe of Findley Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Seeley of South Ripley; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thorpe and daughter of South Dayton; Mr. and Mrs. E. S. VanDewark, Mrs. Clyde Spur and daughter, Margaret, Mrs. Mary Risley, Harold Camp, Mary Griffith and Mrs. James Connor of Jamestown. (Jamestown Evening Journal, Friday Nov. 9, 1928, p. 6.)
