Mahle, 82, a resident of the TLC/HN-Nursing Facility in Irving, formerly of Dunkirk and Portland, died May 3 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1922 in New Bethlehem, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Schick) Nulph. For many years, Mrs. Mahle worked as a cook for the former Dickinson's Restaurant in Fredonia. She retired as a home health care aide for Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. in Dunkirk after four years of service. A member of the Ladies of the Moose - Dunkirk Lodge 89, she formerly belonged to the Dunkirk Eagles Club, Forestville Chapter No. 247 Order of the Eastern Star, Church of the Nazarene in Brocton and the Dunkirk Community Chorus. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles. Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Lambert of West Columbia, S.C., Patricia Kingsley of Irving and Susan Anthony of Silver Creek; one brother, Domer Nulph of Erie; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mayne Geist; and three brothers, Ray Nulph, William Nulph a! nd Lawrence Nulph. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
