Reid, age 91, of East Main Street, Westfield, NY, died Monday, October 22, 2007 at Westfield Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Doris was born on September 29, 1916 in Westfield, New York, a daughter of the late Herbert and Vera (Stowell) Reid. She had been a Westfield resident all her life. Doris was a graduate of Westfield Academy and retired after many years in the offices of Welch Foods in Westfield. Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Society of Westfield where she was very active in Church activities, including serving as Church Treasurer, serving on the Board of Deaconess, as a Sunday School Teacher and as a 40 plus year member of the choir. She enjoyed shopping and cooking and caring for her many siblings. Survivors include her brother: William H. Reid of Westfield, and her sister: Lucille S. Norberg of Jamestown, NY. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers: Walter, Howard, Lawrence and Jay Reid, and by her six sisters, Gladys B. Sailor, Lura Morgan, Lois Reagan, Ethel Grover, Alma Reid, and Catherine Reid. Burial will be in the Westfield Cemetery, Westfield, NY.
