A native of Jamestown, she was born July 5, 1920, the daughter of Charles and Rose Barile Ferino. She was the wife of Peter J. Scheira, whom she married May 18, 1944. She was a 1940 graduate of Jamestown High School and 1943 from Gallinger School of Nursing in Washington, D.C. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre from Aug. 1, 1944 to Nov. 16, 1945, and attained the rank of second lieutenant. She was a registered nurse at Marlin Rockwell Corporation Division of TRW for 25 years, retiring in 1981. Formerly she was a private duty nurse for eight years and employed at the former Jamestown General Hospital and was a gifted nurse in the premature pediatrics department at WCA Hospital. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross Blood Pressure Clinics and a member of the New York State Nurses Association. She loved music, dancing and adored her grandchildren. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Kutschke of ! Jamestown; a son, Peter R. Scheira of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Rochelle Mole of Jamestown, Steven Rossi of Newport News, Va., Scott M. Scheira of Charleston, S.C., Jeanne C. Anderson of Bemus Point, Peter M. Scheira of Mammoth, Calif., and Julie E. Scheira of Lakewood; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jennie Fashano of Santa Clara, Calif. She was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Flynn in 1974. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
