Ziegler, 87, formerly of Ashville, died at 10:45 P.M. Monday (Sept. 17, 2007) in Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. He was born April 13, 1920 in Sidney, N.Y., the son of Charles and Mabel Ellen Ziegler. Mr. Ziegler was a 1940 graduate of Norwich High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in England, France, Germany, and Belgium. He attended Ashville United Methodist Church. He is survived by four sons: Gary Ziegler of Tampa, Fla., Ron Ziegler of Fallston, Md., Fred Ziegler of Ashville, and Ken Ziegler of Belen, N.M.; a daughter, Cathy Pugh of Jamestown; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Oak Ziegler, whom he married Feb. 18, 1946, and who died May 6, 2003; and by two brothers: William and Andrew Ziegler.
