Politically a republican and eclectic in his religious view and performing in several church choirs. His 270 acre farm in Chautauqua County, Ellicott township was considered one of the best farms in the area, producing high quality stock, grain and timber. His farm was the original farm of his grandfather, Cary Clark II who purchased it from the Holland land company. By 1925, this farm was still in the family, being run by Marvin's son Frank M. Clark."
