HERMAN M. HANSEN _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Well known Young Women Passed Away at Her Home on Prendergast Avenue Early This Morning [ Jan. 21, 1910 ]. Ella May Johnson, wife of Herman M. Hansen, died at her home, 514 Prendergast avenue, this morning at 3:30 o'clock, aged 34 years, 3 months and 22 days (sic) [certificate of death lists, 23 days]. Aside from the husband she leaves a son, Neil Fenton Hansen, aged three months; a sister, Mrs. Fred W. Dewey of this city and an aunt, Mrs. Thomas W. Pelham of Boston. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Johnson, both died in this city about six years ago. Mrs. Hansen was born at St. Petersburg, Pa, Sept. 29, 1875, and with her parents also resided at Mayville, coming to Jamestown 16 or 18 years ago and making her home here ever since that time. She was united in marriage to Mr. Hansen Aug 17, 1904. During the past year or so her health gradually failed and at noon Thursday she became unconscious, remaining in this state until death finally came early this morning. Her condition was not considered critical up to Wednesday and the announcement of her death comes as a great shock, not only to the surviving relatives, but to the great body of friends throughout the city. The funeral will be held from the home Sunday afternoon, the hour to be decided upon later. (Jamestown Evening Journal, Friday, January 21, 1910, page 12.) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The funeral of Mrs. Herman M. Hansen will be held from the home, 514 Prendergast avenue, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. (Jamestown Evening Journal, Saturday, January 22, 1910, p. 11.) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ FUNERAL OF MRS. HANSEN The funeral of Mrs. Herman M. Hansen was held from the family home, 514 Prendergast avenue, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Mrs. Grace G. Lay, first reader of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, officiating. There were many beautiful flowers placed on and about the casket. The bearers, all relatives were W.W. Hunt, F.W. Dewey, Edgar Fenton, and Chris Hansen. Among those in attendance were Mrs. Thomas W. Pelham, an aunt of Mrs. Hansen and the Misses Gladys and Marguerite Pelham of Boston. The interment was in Lake View cemetery.
