Cardot, 92, of Heritage Village Health Care Center, Gerry, formerly of Center Road, Arkwright, died Tuesday (June 28, 2005) at the center. She was born Nov. 13, 1912 in Arkwright, the daughter of the late Clifton and Carrie (Taylor) Ball. A lifelong resident of Chautauqua County, Mrs. Cardot was a 1930 alumna of Forestville High School and a 1931 graduate of the school's teacher training class. She was employed as a teacher in the one-room schoolhouse in Arkwright. For most of her life, she assisted her husband with the daily operation of the family dairy farm in Arkwright. For more than 10 years, she served as the Arkwright Town historian. She was a member of the Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Cassadaga-Stockton-Lily Dale Senior Citizens and formerly belonged to the Home Bureau and Arkwright Grange. A driving force behind her husband's political endeavors, she cherished the times spent with her family. Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Cannon of Oak Island, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Earl O. Cardot, whom she married Oct. 23, 1934 and who died May 8, 2000; a sister, Anna Cross; and a brother, Nelson J. Ball. PJ OBIT, poster not related nor researching
