Corcoran, 88, of 2625 Springdale Drive, formerly of 3095 Fluvanna Townline Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, in her home. She was the widow of Delbert P. Corcoran, whom she married July 1, 1937, in Lakewood, and who died Nov. 24, 2004. She was born March 16, 1917, in Kiruna, Sweden, the daughter of Albert T. and Emmy K. Lundgren Forsmark. She came to the United States in 1926, settling in the Jamestown area. She attended the Buffalo Bible Institute and was self-employed wallpaper hanger for 33 years. She also had served as school enumerator for the Bemus Point School District for 16 years. She was a longtime member of the Fluvanna Community Church where she had taught Sunday school, held many church offices and was a member of the Chautauqua County Bible Club Movement. She was a soloist and speaker at numerous church activities and Swedish-American groups. She had sung on WJTN’s Gospel Bell Hour for many years. She is survived by three sons: Michael A. and James P. Corcoran, both of Lansing, and the Rev. John D. Corcoran of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren: Shawn D. Corcoran of Midlothian, Va., Jason A. Corcoran of Cleveland, Vincent J. Corcoran of Kansas city, Mo., Alexander J. Corcoran of East Lansing, Samuel E. Frengell of Wixom, Mich., Rebecca L. and Miriam A. Frengell, both of South Haven, Mich.; and one great-grandson. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Rhinehart; and her step-father, Hugo Bredahl. A memorial service will be held at 2 a.m. Saturday in the Fluvanna Community Church. The Rev Dayle F. Keefer, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in the Fluvanna Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Arrangements are by the Falconer Funeral Home.
