McBane, 53, of Ellery Center, died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, aug. 3, 1967, at WCA Hospital. He was born May 11, 1914, in Banger, Maine, the son of William J. and Nellie Foster McBane. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose of Jamestown, Mr. McBane was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roger Charles, Gerry; and Mrs. Helen Phillips, Jamestown; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Bohall, Sinclairville; and Mrs. Alice Turnham; one brother, Alton Near, Jamestown; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Evans Funeral Home, Bemus Point. The Rev. Edwin F. Armitage, pastor of the Celoron Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
