Young, 86, of 5 Alburtus Ave., Bemus Point, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 1969, at Fenton Park Nursing Home, Jamestown. Miss Young had served as tax collector for Bemus Point Ceentral School District for many years. She was born July 4, 1882, in the Town of Ellery, the daughter of Eugene and Belle Smiley Young and had lived all her life in the Town of Ellery. Miss Young was a member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church; a member and treasurer of the Ellery Memorial Post Auxiliary, American Legion; member of the Jamestown Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; and the Ellery Senior Citizens. Surviving are four cousins: Mrs. Clara Day, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. C. N. Fiero, Erie, Pa.; Mrs. Ruth Dinwiddle, Everett, Wash.; and Mrs. Esther Young, Ministee, Mich. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Evans Funeral Home, Bemus Point. The Rev. Sheldon Peterson, will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
