Dalrymple, 85, of Lutheran Social Services, formerly of 305 N. Work St., Falconer, died at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 31, 2005) in WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, he was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Falconer, the son of Levi and May Cobb Dalrymple. He attended Falconer schools and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1942 to 1945 in the European Theatre. He had been employed as a furniture worker by American Manufacturing, Sterlingworth Corp. and later for 11 years by the Crawford Furniture Company, retiring in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Middleditch Dalrymple, whom he married July 25, 1945, in Dartford, Kent, England; two sons: Bernard L. Dalrymple of Dewittville, and John Dalrymple of Jamestown; a stepson, James E. Middleditch of Belverdere, Kent, England; a daughter, Kathleen Matteson of Hartsville, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Gretchen Lund of North Ridgeville, Ohio; and a half! -sister, Diane Ploss of Corry. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Dalrymple; a sister, Dolly Alberta Malone; and a half- brother, Harry Boardman. Inurnment will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
