Luce, the former Onetta Link Tatchell Luce, 87, formerly of Jamestown and Ellery, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John H. Blakely, Ridgeway, Pa., at 11:40 A.M. Wednesday, following a lengthy illness. She was born March 22, 1865, in Stockton, the daughter of Orlando and Nancy Grover Link. She married Melvin J. Luce on Jan. 17, 1899. He preceeded her in death on June 1, 1939. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Vernal Van DeHey, Jamestown, Mrs. C.L. Chapman, Celeron, and Mrs. John H. Blakely, Ridgeway, Pa.; two sons, Norman Green of Columbus, O. and Charles Luce of Stockton; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Omar Link of Berea, O. One son, Paul Tatchell preceded her in death on March 20, 1952. Funeral services will be held from the Sampsell & Jordan Funeral Home at 2 P.M. Saturday. Rev. Ira W. George, District Superintendent of the American Sunday School Union, Cleveland, O., will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sinclairville, N.Y PAUL J. TATCHELL Funeral services for Paul J. Tatchell, 67, of 708 North Main Street, owner and operator of a meat market, at the City Market for the past nine years, who died in W.C.A. Hospital Thursday noon, will be held from the Powers Funeral Home at 1 P.M. Monday. Rev. C. Norton Warner, pastor of Kidder Memorial Evangelical United Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Mr. Tatchell had been a patient in the hospital for the past six and a half weeks. Mr. Tatchell was born in the Town of Stockton, Oct. 3, 1884, the son of Wallace and Onetta Link Tatchell. He had resided in Jamestown 45 years, and was a member of the protected Home Circle. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mable Tyler Tatchell; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Livermore of Fredonia; a granddaughter, Mrs. Gary Lawson of Jamestown; a great-granddaughter, Lee Alice Lawson of Jamestown; his mother, Mrs. Onetta Luce of Ridgeway, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Vernal Van De Hey of Jamestown, Mrs. Myra Luce Chapman of Celeron, and Mrs. Edna Balkely of Ridgeway; two brothers, Charles Luce of Stockton, and Norman Green of Columbus, O., and several nieces and nephews. CHARLES ALLEN LUCE Word has been recieved of the recent death of Charles Allen Luce, 79, Dillon, S.C. formerly of Stockton, N.Y., at Marion, S.C. hospital, following a long illness. Mr. Luce was born in Gerry, N.Y. the son of the late Melvin and Onetta (Link) Luce. Prior to his retirement Mr. Luce was a Maintenance Foreman with Round & Son Manufacturing Co., in Dillon, S.C. Survivors include his wife, Ella (Marsh) Luce of Dillon, four sons; Paul A. Luce of Fredonia, Charles E. Luce of Norcross, Ga., Richard A. Luce of Puerto Rico, and Roger A. Luce of Dillon; two daughters, Mrs. Marian LeBaron of Duluth, Ga., Mrs. Janet L. Branham of Dillon, two sisters, Mrs. Edna Wice of Cocronton, Pa. & Mrs. Myra Chapman of Jacksonville, Fla. 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by the Blanton Funeral Home in South Carolina. Burial: Greenlawn Perpetual Cemetery, Dillon, South Carolina
