He was a veteran of World War I. He had resided here eight years, formerly living in Jamestown, where he was a machine operator for Jamestown Table Co. He was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Ottaway Seekings. He was a member of the John Dill Post, American Legion. Surviving are three sons, Gilbert, La Verne and Robert Seekings, all of Portland; 15 grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Brooks, Mrs. Pearl Penhollow, Mrs. Lucy Hammond, Mrs, Mabel Gilbert, all of Jamestown; Mrs. Cora Markham, Frewsburg; and Mrs. Blanche Saunders, Brocton; three brothers, Orville Seekings and Earl Seekings, both of Jamestown; and Chan Seekings, Randolph. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Barber Seekings, and a son, Orma Seekings, Jr. Burial will be in Webster Street Cemetery, Fredonia.
