Martin, 86, formerly of Bemus Point and 110 E. Sixth St., Jamestown, died Monday (Jan. 13, 1969) in St. Petersburg, Fla. Miss Martin was a former teacher in Jamestown for 27 years. She taught at Charles Street School and Lincoln Junior High School and had previously taught at Ripley. On her retirement in 1944, she had completed, 44 years as a teacher. She was born in Cherry Creek, April 28, 1882, the daughter of Charles H. and Adelaide Brown Martin. She had been an active member of Jamestown Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are four cousins, Mrs. Juva Neuendorf, Falconer; Floyd Erwin, Bradenton, Fla.; Mrs. Edith Estey, Rochester; and Mrs. Harry Montgomery, Chautauqua. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Blanche Kellogg. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Henderson-Lincoln Funeral Home. The Rev. Sheldon R. Peterson of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Cherry Creek.
