Kofod, 96, of Lake Placid, Fla., formerly of Ashville, died Saturday (July 17, 2004) in her home. She was born July 27, 1907, in the town of Harmony, the daughter of Ernest J. and Ruth Dickson Hanson. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Christian of Lake Placid, Fla.; a son, Theodore W. Kofod Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fla.; six grandchildren: Robert C. Christian Jr. of Port Charlotte, Carolee Springman of Lake Placid, Amy Thompson of Parrish, Fla., Lauren Dodd of Manansquan, N.J.; Karen Kofod of San Francisco and Susan Torchia of Oceanport, N.J.; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Franklin Hanson of Ashville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore W. Kofod, whom she married June 18, 1928, and who died April 15, 1987; four sisters: Mary H. Anderson, Orilla H. Lundgren, Hilda E. Dahlberg and Mable D. Fleming; and a brother, Elwood J. Hanson, who was killed in action during World War II.
