Main St., died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 1968, at his home. Mr. Piersons was a dairy farmer, retiring in 1965, after 51 years of farming. He was a deputy sheriff for 45 years and was one of the organizers of Chautauqua County Deputy Sheriffs Association. He also was a member and serving as vice president of the Chautauqua County Patrons Fire Relief Association at the time of his death. He had served as sexton of the Greenwood Cemetery for the past 45 years. He was a 60-year member and past master of the Stockton Grange, and a member of Pomona, State and National Granges; a member of the Mary E,. Seymour Library Board; and member and past noble grand of Stockton Odd Fellows Lodge. He was born April 29, 1888 in the Town of Pomfret, the son of Charles and Anna Musewald Piersons. He had been a resident ot the Town of Stockton since his marriage to the former Ruby Blodgett on Dec. 2, 1914. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Donald Piersons, Stockton; one sister, Miss Hazel Piersons, Dunkirk; two brothers, Gilbert Piersons, Cassadaga; and Alton Piersons, Lakeland. Fla. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Stockton.
