See attached images. Kelly Miller http://kindredroots.com SHADY NOOK FARM, Residence of Mrs. James Eggleston This homestead is located on North Main Street Extension, tension, Jamestown, New York. The house is interesting because it is the only example left of this type of early American architecture in Western New York. The land was originally purchased in 1836 by Amos Blanchard from the Holland Land Company. He built the house and planted the magnificent maple trees which surround it. In 1919 the property was bought, restored and christened "Shady Nook Farm" by James Eggleston. He was a grandson of Myron and Elvira Skinner Eggleston, early settlers of Chautauqua County, who drove an oxteam through the wilderness from Skaneateles, Onondaga County, New York, to their new home in Harmony Township in 1832. James Eggleston was born in this Township in 1867 and died in Jamestown, in 1929. [end lookup]
