She was born Nov. 26, 1945, in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Robert ‘‘Red’’ and Minerva Dorler Kachermeyer. A high school graduate, she was employed by the former Hills/Ames Department Store for 10 years and Kmart for three months. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church and the Moose Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid computer buff, enjoyed watching soap operas and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Robert Burns Sr.; a son, Robert Burns Jr. of Dunkirk; two daughters: Pam Thomas and Kimberly Hamilton, both of Dunkirk; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers: John Kachermeyer of Hamburg, Jim Kachermeyer of Columbus, Robert Kachermeyer of Cassadaga and Richard Kachermeyer of Dunkirk; and three sisters: Faith DiLorenzo, Mary Bigelow and Barbara ! Szwejbka, all of Dunkirk. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery.
