PETERSBURG, Fla. - Archie R. Densmore, 94, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Brocton died Monday (Aug. 18, 2003). He was born in Sept. 26, 1908, in Tiona, Pa., the son of Edna and Raymond Densmore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II as a captain. Following culinary training at Cornell University, he opened and operated Densmore's Hotel for 35 years in Brocton. He was a member of the American Legion, serving as county commander in Brocton, and was a volunteer firefighter for the Brocton Fire Department. He belonged to many area organizations in Chautauqua County, including the Masonic Temple, Jamestown Consistory, and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of the Ismalia Temple in Buffalo. He is survived by his wife, Edna Nielson Densmore, formerly of Warren, whom he married Feb. 28, 1937; three daughters: Sandy Mitchell of Portland, Sallie Muscato of Dunkirk, and Deborah Vandeveer of St. Petersburg: five grandchildren: Ronald Mitchell and Yvonne Mitchell Burgun, both of Portland, Michael Mitchell of St. Petersburg, Kristen Muscato Britz of Fredonia, and Deena Muscato of Dunkirk; and nine great-grandchildren.
