Smiley, 83, formerly of Fluvanna, died Wednesday (March 22, 1967) after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Smiley was born Nov. 29, 1883, in Bracnard, Minn., the daughter of John and Betsy Mallinson Tweedale. Her husband, Asel N. Smiley, died in May 1961. She was a former secretary at the First Baptist Church for a number of Years. Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Clara Flournoy, Muskogee, Okla.; a niece, Helen Tweedale, Detroit, Mich.; formerly of Jamestown, and several other nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
