Leigh Rhinehart, 78, died at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 27, 1969) in Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk. He was born Dec. 23, 1890 in the Town of Ellery, the son of Pearl and Hettie Waterman Rhinehart. He was a retired farmer and had lived most of his life in the Town of Ellery. He was a member of the Dewittville Grange. He is survived by his wife, Lena M. Rhinehart; five sons: Walter L. Rhinehart, Smethport, Pa.; Seth A. Rhinehart, Jamestown, George M. Rhinehart, Ellington, and Robert E.. Rhinehart, Ellington, and Clifford R. Rhinehart, Bemus Point; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Kesby, Bemus Point; a sister, Mrs. Hettie Cooper, Westfield; twenty-five grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Evans Funeral Home, Bemus Point. The Rev. Larry Lyman, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Dewittville, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Stockton. Bearers at the funeral of G. Leigh Rhinehart were: James Rhinehart, Perry Rhinehart, Roger Rhinehart, Bruce Rhinehart, Lee Cooper, and Pearl Bean. Attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rhinehart, Smethport, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shaner, Honeoye Falls; James Rhinehart, Perry Rhinehart, Caledonia; Mrs. Gloria Dittman, Buffalo.
