He was born June 1, 1930, in Edwardsville, Pa., the son of Luke and Martha Nalevko Oleschak. A Chautauqua County resident since 1958, he attended Kingston High School in Kingston, Pa., and was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force during the airlifts from 1948 to 1954. He was a self-employed carpenter for more than 40 years, operating Luke Oleschak Contracting. He was a member of Maple Springs Veteran of Foreign Wars 557 and Ira Lou Spring Post American Legion 149 of Jamestown. He is survived by three daughters: Tanya Oleschak of Vermont, Marianne Crider of Texas and Natalie States of Sinclairville; a son, Luke Oleschak of Arkansas; a stepdaughter, Eva Jean Earle of Warren; three grandchildren: Seth and Zephyr States, both of Sinclairville, and Curtis Crider of Arkansaas; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Michael Parashas of Wayne, N.J. He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Ruth Bemus Oleschak, whom he married Aug. 25, 1967, and who died July 11, 1995. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Arrangements are by Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
