She was born July 1, 1905, in Jamestown, a daughter of John Axel and Emma Sandberg Larson. In earlier years she had been employed as a secretary at Maddox Table Company and later worked at B. Foreman and Sibley’s Department Stores in Rochester. She returned to Jamestown after her retirement. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Circle Six, the Norden Women, WCA Hospital Auxiliary, YWCA Auxiliary and was a life member of the Marvin Community House. She loved reading and traveling. She is survived by two nieces: Shirley V. Larson of Corry and Jeanne L. Finn of Findley Lake; and a nephew, John A. Larson of Port Salerno, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. Gorman, whom she married April 4, 1941, and who died Dec. 7, 1949; two brothers, Harold I. Larson on Oct. 18, 1968, and Ralph E. Larson on Dec. 7, 19! 71; and two sisters: Rubye L. Lofgren on May 6, 1977, and Floreine L. Carpenter on Dec. 17, 1978. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Sweet, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
