I've "rescued" an old photograph of Robert Hancock GALBRAITH which was taken at the L. C. Hoard Studio in Dunkirk, New York. The photograph was taken in October 1880 when Robert was just 4 months old. Based on limited research and thanks to the help of a GALBRAITH Family Researcher I believe that we do know something of Robert's family. Robert was the son of John W. & Ellen GALBRAITH. During the 1880 census the family was living in Dunkirk, NY with records indicating the following information: John W. GALBRAITH, age 48, b. in Scotland Ellen GALBRAITH, age 43, b. in Scotland Campbell GALBRAITH, age 14, b. in NY John H. GALBRAITH, age 9, b. in NY Ellen C. GALBRAITH, age 7, b. in NY Peter W. GALBRAITH, age 5, b. in NY Mary J. GALBRAITH, age 2, b. in NY I believe that Robert was likely born just after the 1880 census was recorded as he is included with the family in the 1900 census of Dunkirk, NY as follows: John W. GALBRAITH, b. Oct 1831, age 68, married 35 years, b. in Scot, parents b. in Scot, occupation not legible Ellen GALBRAITH, wife, b. June 1836, age 63, married 35 yrs, 7 children/6 living, b. Ireland, parents b. Ireland, Housewife John GALBRAITH, son, b. Jul 1868, age 31, b. NY, Boarcesman? Ellen GALBRAITH, dau, b. Oct 1872, age 27, b. NY, School Teacher Mary GALBRAITH, dau, b. Jan 1878, age 22, b. NY, School Teacher Robert GALBRAITH, son, b. June 1880, age 19, b. NY, At School I am hoping to locate someone from this GALBRAITH Family so that this precious old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
