Sandy, 90, formerly of 15 Hall Ave., died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 27, 2003) in the Lutheran Retirement Home. He was born Dec. 23, 1913, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of William and Anna Hallberg Sandy. He was a graduate of Keosauqua High School, Keosauqua, Iowa. Moving to Jamestown in 1940 from Kane, where he had lived since 1936, he was employed by the former Art Metal Inc for 29 years as a press operator. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Thule Lodge 127 Vasa Order of America, where he had served as chairman, a member of the Men's Degree Team, past New York District Master and Grand Lodge Deputy. He is survived by two sons, Donald and Gail Sandy, both of Jamestown; and seven grandchildren: Keith, Ryan, Amelia, Ann, John Paul, Sarah and Laura Sandy, all of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Edna Carlson, whom he married Sept. 11, 1942, and who died June 7, 2003; three brothers; and eight sisters. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
