Hi George, I have been researching my husband's 3 gr grandfather,Eleazar Campbell for many years. He was born in PA and as far as we know lived in Erie County PA, close to where your folks were in NY. He was born around 1830 and listed his parents as Michael and Polly Smith Campbell. He married Sarah Hazen, whose family came from Mina NY, but she was raised by her aunt,Ida Mattocks Pope, in the town of Northeast PA.
