    1. [NYCHAUTA] Campbells in Chautauqua
    2. G. Campbell
    3. I am researching the descendants of Thomas Campbell and Jane Davidson who live in Londonderry, NH, in the first half of the 18th century. They had four children: Mary who married and moved to Maine, and three sons: John, Nathaniel, and Hugh Argyle, who moved to eastern NY. Their children moved westward with a number stopping and staying in the Westfield/Portland area. Specifically Hugh's son, Thomas Burns Campbell, lived in Westfied, Hugh's daughter Elizabeth died in Portland on 14 Nov. 1819, and Hugh's wife, Mary, died in Portland on 5 July 1819. We believe that there was a colony of these Campbell and their relatives (who might have had other names) in the Westfield/Portland area at least during the first half of the 19th century. I would like to ask the members of this list if anyone is researching these Campbells or has any information about them. Thanks. George Campbell

    3. I have been trying to determine the parentage or ancestry of one Henry C. Campbell for some time. He md. into a Mallory line I am researching. The Mallorys lived in Westfield in the early and mid-1800s, so there might be a connection. This Henry had a daughter named Delia or Adelia. He also had a son called Bert or Burt and at least one other son who died young and is buried in NE. Do you think there might be a connection? Does the name Henry or the state of Nebraska ring any bells re your Campbells? Below is about all I have on Henry: Henry C. Campbell md. Frances F. Mallory on 8 Nov 1856 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. (Some of the Mallorys had moved there from Westfield.) Frances was the daughter of Isaac and Amy (Briggs) Mallory of Westfield, Chautauqua Co., NY. I don't know where Henry was from. Henry C. Campbell is buried in Arlington, Washington Co., NE. He was a postmaster, justice of the peace, and deputy marshal. He was the first warden of the State Penitentiary in Lincoln, NE when he died in 1873. He also owned land in Washington, Dodge, and Burt Cos. and was a partner in businesses in Lincoln and North Platte. In the 1870 census, he was living in Fontenelle Pct., Washington Co. NE. -- "G.
