A lifelong area resident, she was born Dec. 19, 1916, in Jamestown, the daughter of Axel and Matilda Nicholson Anderson. She had been employed as an elevator operator at the former Hotel Jamestown, and later worked at the former Village Inn in Celoron. She was a member of Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by two sisters: Louise Huddleston and Helen Ramsey, both of Bradenton, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland R. Reed, whom she married Aug. 10, 1971, and who died Jan. 18, 1992; and a brother, C. Arthur Anderson, who died Jan. 23, 2000. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Lauren Turner, pastor of Celoron United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 113 E.
