Avery, was the one in the Civil War. Per the pension papers, he was in Company D of the 128th regiment, side served, Union. I am thinking since the info you provided to me on William Avery, may clarify the Decatur, GA as really Decatur CO, Ind. As I read in the papers, John was honorably discharged at Indianapolis, IN. Although in the papers states he fought in the Battle of Atlanta. I need to go over these papers again. Thank you very much for you help.
