He was born Jan. 22, 1915, in Tortoricci, Italy, the son of Ignazio and Singaorina Calimeri Caprino. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Italian Army. He had been employed as a machinist by Marlin Rockwell for 251/2 years, retiring in 1977. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, a former member of the Marco Polo Club, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1681 and the Lake Erie Beagle Club. He is survived by his wife, Sebastiana Montagna Caprino, whom he married June 10, 1935, in Tortoricci; two sons: Ignazio Caprino Jr. of Jamestown and Carl Caprino of Falconer; three daughters: Serene Brown of Kiantone, Teresa Elmeer of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Josie Hind of Frewsburg; 18 grandchildren: and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Ciancio, who di! ed April 11, 1999; a grandson, Jason Michael Ciancio; and a sister, Maria Caprino. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Jamestown, New York.
