This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SRB.2ACE/11992.1.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: If I may jump into the middle of this “discussion”… I have not found it discouraging or annoying to have the copious number of obits on this board. As a matter of fact I have found it very insightful and welcoming… As someone who grew up in Chautauqua County, I have found the obits of many family members and friends “randomly” posted. It has brought a lot of unsolicited and forgotten memories of people that I have not thought of for a very long time. I wish that a lot of the other county boards had people who did the same. It also tells me, as someone who is visiting the board that there are people out there who have the knowledge, ability, and time to help me find the information that I am looking for. The one item that is sometimes missing or forgotten is to properly classify the post. If the posting is an obituary, it should be classified as such. If it is a query, it should be classified as such. It does not take very long to figure out how to narrow the board to what you are looking for. So, IMHO, Dale, if you are only looking to help people you should just be able to look at queries. For the helpful folks posting all of the obits, if you remember to properly classify the bountiful number of obits, then when we are looking for them we can see them without all of the other information…. Everyone, keep up the great work and thanks for all of the time that you spend providing us with information on family and friends. IMHO, Scott
