Harper, 86, of the Charlotte Villa, died Saturday (March 2, 2002) in WCA Hospital. She was born May 19, 1915, in Jamestown, the daughter of Arthur G. and Carrie Everett Hartquist. A Chautauqua County resident most of her life, she attended Charlotte Center School. She was employed at Red Wing from 1959 to 1970 as a packer, and served as a pianist and vocalist at many functions. She was a member of the Charlotte Center United Methodist Church, Sinclairville Senior Citizens, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and was a charter member of the Sinclairville Kitchen Band. She was a member of the Polio Survivors Group, a member and former past noble grand of the Milbrook Rebekah Lodge and a former member and financial secretary of the Fireman and Oilers Union at Red Wing. She is survived by a son, Henry D. Harper Jr. of Charlotte Center; a daughter, Elizabeth Perryman of Fredonia; six grandchildren: and a sister, Joan Barton of Frewsburg. She was preceded in death by her ! husband of 40 years, Henry D. Harper Sr., whom she married Oct. 31, 1936, and who died Dec. 8, 1977; a brother, Everett Hartquist; and her step-parents: Arthur and Beatrice S. Sutton Barton Reynolds. Burial will be in Charlotte Center Cemetery
