Calabrese, 89, of 112 Broadhead Ave., died at 7:14 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 7. 2005) Baldwinville, N.Y., in the home of his daughter. He was born May 31, 1916, in Jamestown, the son of Joseph and Angeline LaValle Calabrese. A self-employed wood finisher, he was the former owner of Jamestown Burial Vault Company and served as superintendent of the Catholic cemeteries. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Nicolina Crassi Calabrese, whom he married July 9, 1941, in St. James Catholic Church; two sons: Dr. Joseph C. Calabrese of Wilmington, Del., and Anthony S. Calabrese of Jamestown; a daughter, Katherine A. Bendo of Baldwinville; five grandchildren: William J. Bendo III of Syracuse, Lisa K. Black of Dewitt, N.Y., Lauren S. Bendo of Baldwinsville, Mauro J. Calabrese of Boston, and Nichole Calabrese of Erie; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Landy of Dallas. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Joseph, Samuel, Angel! o and James Calabrese; and five sisters: Lena LoPresto, Mary and Margaret Ingrao, Katherine Calabrese and Rose Ferino. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
