Derby, 73, of 12430 E. Lake Road, formerly of Watts Flats, died Saturday (Aug. 13, 2005) in his home. He was born May 11, 1932 in Ashville, the son of E. Morris and Marjorie I. Ross Derby. He served in Korea as a member of the U.S. Navy, and had been employed for twenty years as an assembler at the former Art Metal Manufacturing Co. He had later worked at the Chautauqua Malted Milk Co. in Mayville. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Erie, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4789 of North East, and the North East Senior Citizens. He is survived by a son, Charles Patrick Derby of Oklahoma; four grandchildren; two brothers: Charles L. Derby of Lakewood and Merlin S. Derby of Jamestown; and by a sister, Barbara Derby of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by a brother, Neil E. Derby; and by two sisters: Katherine Alexander and Nancy Westerlund. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Watts Flats, NY.
