Wilson, 75, of 110 West Third St., died at 8:24 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, in his home. An area resident for most of his life, he was born Jan. 11, 1930, in Craven County, N.C., the son of Earl W. and Lila Wilson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from Nov. 14, 1955 to Feb. 10, 1956. He had been employed by the former Art Metal Inc. from 1949 until the plant's closing in 1971. He had also worked as a security guard for several businesses in the Jamestown area. He is survived by two sons: Gordon W. Wilson of Bemus Pooint, and John E. Wilson of Jamestown; two daughters: Beth L. Holbrook and JoAnn M. Wilson, both of Jamestown; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd E. Wilson; and two sisters: Ruby Koonce and Ruth Dixon. No funeral service or visitation observed. Arrangements are by the Lind Funeral Home.
