Scheira, 54, of 18 Connecticut Ave., died at 5:53 p.m. Wednesday July 30, 2003 in WCA Hospital. A native of Jamestown, she was born March 7, 1949, the daughter of Jane Button Mays of Jamestown and the late William M. Mays. Se was the wife of Peter R. Scheira, whom she married March 21, 1970. She was a 1967 graduate of Jamestown High School, and a 1968 graduate from Bryant and Stratton Business Institute. She was the director of music and organist at Bemus Point United Methodist Church for two years, Westminster Presbyterian Church for two years, Falconer United Methodist Church for two years and the former Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church for many years. She was also a private piano teacher for many years. She was a member of Bemus Point United Methodist Church, the American Guild of Organists and the Junior Board at Marvin Community House. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed teaching children piano and was devoted to the music at church. Her family will remember her most for her faith in Jesus Christ and a home filled with love. Besides her husband and her mother, she is survived by two sons: Scott M. and Peter M. Scheira, both of Jamestown; and two daughters: Jeanne C. Scheira of Bemus Point, and Julie E. Scheira of Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her father, who died Aug. 25, 1982. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
