Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SRB.2ACE/3340.1.2 Message Board Post: Hi I found Martin, sort of, His father is JAMES GOLDSMITH, and Mother is your Matilda, Martin born 1849 or early 1850 is a new infant in 1850 James is an old man, he died in Portland He is James JUNIOR son of the James the Rev War soldier, buried in Portland Evergreen ; died 9-11-1861 b ca 1788 GOLDSMITH Sarah, d 9-24-1840, age 56 1st wife of James JR these had ch , Ransom b ca 1826 and others probably the parents of George ca 1820 m to Rhoda George in the Poorhouse cemetery and Rhoda in P Evergreen BUT James JR is STILL in Portland in 1860 now in his house, both MATILDA and MARTIN are gone; instead is Nancy JONES 37 and a couple of kids NOT Goldsmith they live beside George and Rhoda and their kids, Rhoda will die in a while 10-28-1861 probably effects of giving birth to HOMER b 11-26-1860 and I am not real sure of these dates, they may be the same yr of Birth and death there is a 2 day difference, and I do not have the records this far back and have found several other errors in the online data already form a reading there is NO trace of a Matilda m to PERRY DEWEY now nor any other trace of MARTIN GOLDSMITH here; But James JR WAS his father I am still working on this cemetery data Dee
