Adolph Steed, 92, of Heritage Green, Greenhurst, died Wednesday Dec. 17, 2003 in WCA Hospital. He was born July 16, 1911, in Elwood City, Pa., the son of William and Gertrude Clark Steed. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth Steed, whom he married Jan. 14, 1936, in Ellwood City, and who died Dec. 18, 1992. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army as a private first class serving with the 315th infantry in France from 1944 to 1946. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge, the European Middle Eastern Medal with three Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. He began his ministry in 1946, retiring in 1973, and served as pastor of the Mayburg, Ulysses, Youngsville, Titusville, Franklin and Warren Free Methodist churches. He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Bosko of Irvine; three grandchildren: Daniel Bosko of Virginia Beach, Va., Mary Beth Skarote of High Point, N.C., and Martha Ann Rottman of Karns City, Pa.; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virgie Reagle of Ellwood City, Pa. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a great-grandson. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Free Methodist Church, Youngsville. The Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor of the church, will officiate.
