Schwartz, 78, of 44 Scott Ave., died Thursday (Oct. 11, 2001) in her home. She was born May 19, 1923, in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of the Rev. Craig W. and Mabel Perkins Schwartz. She received her bachelor’s degree from Hiram College, Hiram, Ohio, her master’s degree from Syracuse University and the Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City. She was a retired New York State Public School guidance counselor. She was a member of the PEO Philanthropic Educational Organization, the Young Women’s Christian Association of Westfield, Pi Lambda Theta Education Honorary, the National Association of Women Deans, Administrators and Counselors and the Disciples of Christ Christian Church Affiliation. She was honored by being listed in the 1972-72 edition of Who’s Who of America and in the fourth Melrose Press publication of Two Thousand Women of Achievement. She also did creative writing, traveled all over! the world and enjoyed photography. She is survived by a daughter, Marisa Schwartz of Charlotte, N.C.; and a son, David C. Schwartz of Chautauqua. Burial will be in Chautauqua Cemetery.
