Corcoran, 88, formerly of 228 Hall Ave., died at 5:35 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 25, 2005) in the Heritage Green Health Care Center. A lifelong area resident, he was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Falconer, the son of Paul E. and Hannah Adamson Corcoran. He was a 1937 graduate of Falconer High School and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 800 Military Police Battalion in Japan. He was employed by the former Bigelow's Department Store in the housewares and china department and later in the interior design and drapery department for over 40 years, retiring in 1979. Surviving are a brother Paul F. Corcoran of Bemus Point and a sister Kathryn C. Durinka of Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife Florence Westman Corcoran, whom he married June 4, 1938, in the former Mission Covenant Church in Jamestown, and who died April 17, 1988; a sister, Margaret C. Dinniney; five brothers, Delbert, Clarence, Robert, Charles and Harold Corcoran, and ! a half-brother, Lawrence Corcoran. A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Chapel of Sunset Hill Cemetery where Entombment will be in the Garden Mausoleum.
