Lopus, 78, of 21 W. 23rd St., Jamestown, died at 1 p.m. Monday (April 29, 2002) in her home. An area resident most of her life, she was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Jamestown, a daughter of Conrad and Florence Johnson Christian. For many years, she was employed as a licensed practical nurse at WCA Hospital and the former Jamestown General Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her entire family. Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Willard D. Lopus; a daughter, Susan Smith Carlson of Wadsworth, Ohio; three stepchildren: Donald Lopus, Barbara Thorpe and Shelly Swanson, all of Jamestown; three grandchildren: David Carlson and Mark Carlson, both of Wadsworth, and Douglas Carlson of London, England; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Christian of Lake Placid, Fla.; two sisters: Marian Lundgren and Marilyn Sweeney, both of Jamestown. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Christian. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
