She was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Westfield, a daughter of Henry H. and Irene B. Waterman Burgess. She was a member of the Westfield Ladies of the Moose Lodge 118, a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Westfield and volunteered her services at the Rotary luncheons held at the church for many years. She is survived by a foster son, Alvin Geddings of Westfield; and five foster grandchildren: Mindy, Tia, Amanda, Victoria and Benjamin Geddings, all of Westfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Militello, whom she married Oct. 25, 1952, in Westfield, and who died April 6, 1994. Burial will be in the Westfield Cemetery.
