So Roxy Love and Amy Love were half sisters. They both married Ezra Scott. Roxy died in 1861 and is buried in the Christian Cemetery. Her name is listed as Betsey Love for some reason. Amy's first husband was David Whitefield Scott. They had two living children Amy Lucelia McNitt and Roxy Sylvania McNitt. Lucelia or Celia married my gg Uncle Oscar Tarbox and his brother Eder married Roxy McNitt. They are buried in the Cassadaga Cemetery.
I was handed down the family history of John DeMott and his family from a distant cousin. In 1876 Lorenzo DeMott the youngest child held a family reunion on the family farm. The farm had been in the family since about 1809. Those attending the reunion were: My great great great grandmother, Maria DeMott Schofield (age 79) from Fremont Township, Iowa, Sally DeMott or Lorinda DeMott Smith( age 76), Susan DeMott Lennox (age 65) from Sinclairville, Amy DeMott Love Woods (age 60) from Pomfret, and Lorenzo DeMott of Ellery. I have a copy of part of the newspaper article that was printed in the paper at that time. I do not know which paper it was and would love to get the whole article. Here is part of the article: "The table was spread with the choicest delicacies of the season, in the old yard back of the house under apple trees which came from seeds sown by John DeMotte sixty-six years ago (!1810) and some of the trunks were ? feet in diameter, with large spreading limbs loaded with lucious fruit. About sixty people gathered around the table, representing three generations and three sets of twins. The oldest were of the original family of John DeMotte and were his youngest children." Most of the article was gone but Lorinda, Maria, Susan, Amy, and Lorenzo were listed as well as another sister and that sister's husband. The only other sister who could be living at that time would be Sally. John and Susannah (Susan) Skinner DeMott(e) had three sons and eight daughters. Jo Ann Clark Midland, Texas
