Yagger, 95, of Heritage Village Health Care Center, Gerry, formerly of Cassadaga, died Friday (Aug. 29, 2003) at the facility. She was born April 13, 1908, in Cassadaga, the daughter of William and Mamie Hamman. She was a 1926 graduate of Cassadaga High School and lived in Cassadaga for 84 years. She was employed for 26 years at M&T Bank in Fredonia as a teller, retiring in 1973. She had also worked picking grapes on Tickner Farms in Fredonia and had also been employed at Cassadaga Greenhouses in Cassadaga. She was a past member of the Cassadaga Rebekahs and enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking and gardening. She also spent time fishing. Surviving are three daughters: Bethany DuBeau of Placentia, Calif., Sally Wissman of Gerry and Linda Edwards of Sinclairville; a son, David Yagger of Sinclairville; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 11 years, Casey Yagger, whom she married Sept. 22, 1961, and who died Feb. 16, 1972; a sister, Ruth Wood; and a brother, Phillip Hamman. Burial will be in Cassadaga Cemetery.
