Broadhead, 101, of the Frewsburg Rest Home, formerly of Boniwood, died Monday (June 18, 2001) in her residence. A lifelong area resident, she was born Dec. 19, 1899, in Jamestown, the daughter of James Almet and Edith May Haynes Broadhead. After graduating from Jamestown High School in 1918, she completed a business training course and was employed as a bookkeeper by American Manufacturing Concern. In 1960, she was named secretary-treasurer of the company and served as a director until retirement. She was also secretary-treasurer of the William T. Falconer Estate Inc. A charter member of the Stillwater United Methodist Church, having joined when the first building was constructed in 1918, she served as church organist, youth leader, Sunday school teacher and financial secretary. She was an active member of the Zonta Club of Jamestown, serving in various capacities including president and director, and was also on the board of the Marvin House. She also traveled e! xtensively. Surviving are three nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Gerald Arthur Broadhead on Nov. 8, 1929, Clarence James Broadhead, Jan. 6, 1982, and Russell Haynes Broadhead, Feb. 8, 1991. No visitation will be observed. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
