Author: djstelmach_1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.chautauqua/21521.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: some of the federal census records would usually list the street they lived on. For off-line sources, there are city directories. I don't recall what years were available but the special collections room at the Reed Library at the Fredonia SUNY campus has several for the area. Newspaper accounts might also mention such as birth, marriage, death announcments within that time frame. Ancestry does have quite a bit of the Dunkirk paper scanned, including the 1924 time period. I'm only a novice myself, no doubt many here can offer much better advice but try searching ancestry.com using your aunts maiden names and their parents names. You can search the census of 1930 and you may find them presuming they were in Fredonia at that time. Alternatively, you could purchase a temp subscription to www.newspaperarchive.com and search the dunkirk observer for articles containing your family members names. These are the simplest solutions (from one novice to another) .. It get's increasingly complex from there on out. I wouldn't mind suggestions myself :) Mark Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
